Early Life and Family
Born on June 24, 1950, Dom Antônio was the seventh of twelve children of Prince Dom Pedro Henrique de Orleans e Bragança and Princess Dona Maria da Baviera. In 1951, the family relocated to Paraná, and later to Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro, in 1965.
Education and Career
Dom Antônio received his education at the Colégio de Jacarezinho and the Colégio Vassouras. He earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the former University of Barra do Piraí in southern Rio de Janeiro. He worked as an engineer for several companies, including Construtora Adolpho Lindenberg and Nuclebrás Engenharia S.A.
Personal Life
On September 26, 1981, Dom Antônio married Princess Dona Christine de Ligne in a ceremony held in Belgium. The couple had four children: Prince Dom Pedro Luiz, Princess Dona Amélia, Prince Dom Rafael, and Princess Dona Maria Gabriela. He was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Joaquim and Nicholas.
