Gurinder Singh Dhillon has named his successor
45-year-old Jasdeep Singh Gill, as the new patron and ‘sant satguru’ of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society, effective immediately.
In an important announcement, the Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB), a spiritual organization based along the Beas River near Amritsar, revealed on Monday that its leader, Gurinder Singh Dhillon, has appointed Jasdeep Singh Gill, who holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Cambridge and is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, as its patron and ‘sant satguru.’
A statement from RSSB secretary Devender Kumar Sikri noted: “Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon has officially nominated Jasdeep Singh Gill, son of Sukhdev Singh Gill, as the patron of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society, effective September 2, 2024.”
Sikri added, “Jasdeep Singh Gill will also take over as the Sant Satguru of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society and will have the authority to confer initiation (naam). Baba Ji has expressed his desire that, just as he received the full support and affection from the ‘sangat’ after Huzur Maharaj ji, the same love and kindness be extended to Jasdeep Singh Gill as he fulfills his ‘sewa (service)’ in this new role.”
Jasdeep Singh Gill recently stepped down as the chief strategy officer at pharmaceutical company Cipla Limited, where he worked from 2019 until May 31, 2024. He has also been involved with Ethris and Achira Labs Private Limited as a board observer and served on the board of Wealthy Therapeutics until March 2024. Previously, he was the executive assistant to the CEO at Ranbaxy and held the position of president and chairman at Cambridge University Entrepreneurs.
Gill earned his PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge and completed a master’s degree in the same field at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology through an exchange program. He also holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biochemical engineering and biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
