As of October 30, 2024, ITA Airways has officially launched its first direct daily flight connecting Rome Fiumicino to Dubai. This new route marks a significant addition to the airline’s offerings, making Dubai more accessible from Italy.

Enhancing Connectivity

This initiative follows a memorandum of understanding signed in March between ITA Airways and Emirates, the leading airline in the Persian Gulf. The agreement aims to enhance their existing interline partnership into a comprehensive codeshare agreement. Previously, only Emirates operated flights between Rome and Dubai, with a frequency of two daily flights.

Benefits for Travelers

Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer of ITA Airways, stated, “This new daily service will boost tourism and trade between Italy and the United Arab Emirates, providing a strategic market not only for point-to-point travel but also for connections to various national, international, and intercontinental destinations through our hub in Fiumicino, catering to both leisure and business travelers.”

Flight Schedule

The flight from Rome to Dubai operates daily, departing from Fiumicino at 10:40 AM and arriving in Dubai at 7:50 PM local time. The return flight leaves Dubai at 1:50 AM and arrives in Rome at 6:00 AM local time.

Aircraft Information

The Rome-Dubai route is serviced by the Airbus A321neo, a narrow-body aircraft that is part of ITA Airways‘ fleet, which now totals 100 aircraft. The A321neo features three distinct classes: Business Class (12 seats), Premium Economy (12 seats), and Economy Class (141 seats, including 12 Comfort Economy seats).

Future Routes

Following the introduction of the Dubai route, ITA Airways plans to launch a direct flight to Bangkok starting November 16, 2024, with five weekly services using the Airbus A330neo. Additionally, from December 20, 2024, the airline will operate up to five weekly flights from Rome to Malé, the capital of the Maldives, also using the Airbus A330neo.
