The latest installment in the Jurassic World franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment has officially been named and unveiled its first images. Titled *Jurassic World Rebirth*, the film is set for a wide release on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, “Jurassic World Rebirth” follows a daring team on a mission to collect DNA samples from the three largest dinosaurs on the planet. Set five years after *Jurassic World Dominion*, the film portrays a world where dinosaur habitats have become largely uninhabitable, with the remaining creatures isolated in tropical environments. The colossal dinosaurs hold the potential for a groundbreaking drug that could significantly benefit humanity.
Johansson takes on the role of Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert leading the high-stakes mission. When her team crosses paths with a civilian family stranded on an island after an attack by aquatic dinosaurs, they uncover a shocking secret long hidden from humanity.
Bailey portrays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, while Ali plays Zora’s trusted team leader, Duncan Kincaid. The cast also includes Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, a representative from Big Pharma, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked family.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (*Rogue One: A Star Wars Story*), the film features a script by David Koepp, the original writer of *Jurassic Park*, based on characters created by Michael Crichton. Additional cast members include Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein.
Produced by franchise veterans Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, with Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer as executive producers, *Jurassic World Rebirth* marks the fourth entry in the franchise, following a trilogy that each grossed over $1 billion worldwide. The most recent film, *Jurassic World Dominion*, was released in June 2022.
